Aerol Silicone Grease, Grade 17-2 is a paste like, non-soap thickened, grease commonly used as Lubricants, Release agents, Anti-seize, Potting compounds, dielectric coatings and protective coatings.
Non-toxic, non-oxidizing, non-gumming, water resistant and chemically inert. Exhibits excellent high and low temperature resistance and do not solidify or melt at extreme temperatures. They do not carbonize after decomposing at high temperature. In the electronics industry they are commonly used as a dielectric insulating seal and moisture barrier on electronic components, as a lubricant in various types of switches etc.
Demonstrates excellent resistance to extreme weather conditions, chemicals such as mild acids and alkalis, alcohol etc. It is an outstanding lubricant for plastic, rubber, glass materials which normally disintegrate under prolonged contact with petroleum lubricants and greases. This grease is generally not recommended for ball and roller bearing moving at high or moderate speeds. However it may have limited use in plain bearings or ball bearings moving at very slow speeds.
Silicone Greases are commonly used to lubricate glass stop cock, industrial valves, water taps, plastic and rubber components in automotive, household, electronics, scientific and laboratory equipment etc. They work as a seal cum lubricant on rubber o-rings and gaskets used in vacuum pumps, air filters, piston and cylinder assemblies etc. They also keep rubber articles soft and flexible during storage and use. They are often used as a release agent, particularly for Roto moulding.
They are widely used to lubricate and reduce noise in plastic gears of toys, instrumentation, audio- video tape player mechanisms, cameras, automobile switches etc. Due to their extreme weather resistance, they are used to lubricate equipment exposed to constant environmental attack such as vending machines, rail road signaling equipment, aerospace, sea borne equipment and protection of high voltage porcelain insulators on the electrical transmission towers.
