Started us in when my son was 2 n half months.. his neck was inside the upper end so no prob of neck support. Now he is 4 months n enjoys seeing th world . Will sleep off in it. Shoulders n back wil start hurting after a while. Make sure to tighten th waist belt. Will help take off some burden from shoulders. Horizontal position not comfortable for me or my son. So didn't use it. Edit: stopped using it after my son crossed 8 kgs in 7th month. Too uncomfortable n caused back pain.

But be careful you need to lock all the side release buckles available. Please read user manual carefully and learn how to use the product safely otherwise this mat lead to disastrous situations
