I bought 900 l capacity choppper , but can’t even fill half of the jar , it won’t get chopped . U need to slice small before chopping . Still sometimes blades get stuck , I feel better t use the cutting board and knife ?? to save time

After the 1st use itself the product malfunctioned. The string attached to the chopper did not recoil rendering the item useless. Tried writing to the customer care team for a replacement, as it was under 1 month warranty, but never got a reply. The contact number given is also not working for call support. Did not expect this from a reputed brand such as ‘Pigeon’!!!

When there's even a little load, the blade doesn't rotate at all. I have used around 5-6 Pigeon choppers over 8 years. But first time such a bad piece has been sold. I always used the green coloured one. This time I thought of trying the grey one, thinking that efficiency might be same, but it's not. It shows that warranty is there, but the are calling me to a service centre which is 17km away. Cost of going there and coming back would 2 times the cost of the product itself. I asked the company to ship a replacement, but they are not willing to do that. Such a bad experience. First, selling a bad defective piece, and 2nd, not taking responsibility of correction.

I bought it for Rs 269/- in a lightening deal & following are my observations. PROS: + The plastic quality of the container and the blades quality seems to be very good on initial impressions. + The blades are mounted on a rod which is aligned to the cap. So as you pull the red handle the rod rotates which in turn moves the blades. Since the bowl is transparent so you can see how finely chopped the vegetables are and if required can pull the handle a few more times if you wish to chop more. (For eg - A finely chopped onion will require more pulls of handle than making a salad which have larger pieces in comparison) + The blades and rod assembly can be easily taken out after chopping to remove the vegetables and clean the bowl. + Cuts tomatoes too nicely without leaving any pulp, Indicating good blade quality. Besides that have tried onions, carrots, cucumber, cabbage, coriander and chilies so far. + Comes with a 6 months warranty. Pigeon toll free number is mentioned on the box but no one answered when i tried calling. (1800-425-66666) Cons: - Since the blades are located in bottom hence it won't cut light things like coriander leafs (Dhaniya) properly (Only those at the bottom of the bowl will be cut). - The bowl needs to be filled at the bottom for vegetables to come in contact with rotating blades to be cut. So if you put just 2-3 Chilies they won't be cut but putting 10-15 at a time will do the job. ======= VERDICT ======= A very handy and time saving kitchen tool. Has some cons but at this price it is a good deal.
