No manufacturing defect.I just got it today so can't say about how good the handle is riveted to the main body or if the steel will get stained after regular use. But first looks it's greatUpdate on 15 Oct 2020: The jug still looks great, no bends, no rust.. Happy with the purchaseUpdate on 10 Mar 2021: looks just as new
