The first one came defective;the lid does not sit on the vessel and kept sliding off. Applied for exchange and the exchanged vessel too came defective, with a dent on the bottom. I don't know whose fault is this, amazon or Prestige but it made me go to the store and pick something other than this brand.

My search for a heavy base, spreading heat evenly, with a wide.mouth and solid body, which can be covered by SS thaali for cooking dum biriyani, Jakhni, pulaow ended here. This vessel satisfies it all. Low cost in comparision to heavy brass biriyani kadai. Its a great inNovation by prestige. Cooked both Chicken and mutton biriyani each time 1.5 kg plus 1 kg rice, it came out perfect. If one flat thick say 2 mm or 3 mm cover can be included for the top, it would be great. A great buy, value for money Biriyani and other cooking vessel. Go for it.
