I though the interior was aluminium..I wasn't sure..then the first time I used it, I realized the interior is also stainless steel.. not a heavy Gauge one compared to prestige I have, but reasonable for the price..Im satisfied on what I paid and what I got..

Disadvantages
Not good quality. The lid did not seal the first time I tried to use. Steam escapes around edges so never gets to pressure. Very poor design.
