My daughter (pure veg) aged 13 has very thick and long hair. Because of hormonal imbalance, vit D less than 10, obese and extreme mood swings, she was not very supportive resulting high dandruff with heavy acne on face and body till hair length (MD qualified hair care dr suggested for sebamed and then Sebowash alongside soap and 3 creams- any medico can understand the seriousness of infection). This continued for a year with no full reduction of dandruff plus heavy hairfall. Neither pediatrician, endocrine or hair care dr could come to my rescue.So, i changed shampoo- 1cup soapnut (with broken seed), 1 cup shikakai broken into small pieces, 1 tsp fenugreek or methi, 1tsp onion seeds or kalonji, 2tsp dried amla, 25 hibiscus leaves cleaned (this is mandatory to avoid bristle hair), 5 to 10 hibiscus fresh or dried flowers. Take all in a heavy bottom bowl with a litre water and boil for 20 to 30 min on low flame. Switch off and leave overnight. Next day squeeze the juice. Pour luke warm water again and squeeze juice. Repeat this till you get all juice. Store in glass container and put in fridge. This way you can save lot of time for each hairwash and avoid bristle hair caused by soapnut.When you want to use, take 50 - 100ml juice (as needed), add some hot water and use as shampoo. I add half teaspoon of market ava shampoo for mental satisfaction of getting froth (as my daughter has thick hair). Usually i apply extra virgin coconut oil, castor oil, vit E 400mg 2Tablets (use double boil method to heat), apply on hair and massage for 10 min, leave overnight. Take prepared shampoo liquid in a applicator and apply on hair and leave for 10min before hairwash nextday. Also for conditioner, i take 2 cups rice, wash and then soak in 2cups water. After 30 min this rice soaked water is used as conditioner (pour on hair after shampoo and then rinse off with lukewarm or cold water).Healthy diet, min 8hrs sleep, extra virgin oil and proper hair care, hair mask like egg mask. Onion mask etc on fortnightly basis with consistent haircare also matters. You cannot expect a result for one application. After 3 weeks of usage, I found dandruff , hair loss reduced by 90% and I am happy with the result.
